Sausage & Bread Stuffing

Thanksgiving was always a big deal in my family.  It wasn't just about the food.  The table decor was always done to the max and, having crafters in the family, there was always some kind of handmade embel-lishment around (usually at my mother's doing).  Be it a paper pilgrim hat on the front door, mayflower pillows on the sofa or a sewn and stuffed plush turkey dead-center of the dinner spread - something was added to the mix each year. These days on my own, I keep it simple and maybe run a half-dozen ripened pears down the center of the table with some candles and a white tablecloth. The stuffing however, stays the same.  I don't remember where this stuffing recipe came from but my grandmother snatched it up from someone and penned it over the years.  Sure, it's more work than Stove Top, but it's GOOD.
